Concert Hall Postponed 26. júlí 2006 10:30 TRH - Tónlistarhús, ráðstefnumiðstöð og hótel. Austurbakki. The building of the new Concert Hall and Conference Centre which was supposed to be ready at the beginning of 2009 will most likely be postponed for one year. The Government wants to delay construction to show that they are doing their bit to counter inflation. They will be meeting with construction company Portus within a few days to discuss the matter. "Portus wants to show responsability in the management of the economy," said Minister of Culture Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir after a Government meeting yesterday. She added that the Concert Hall would definately be built, and no later than spring 2010. The building was designed by acclaimed artist and architect Ólafur Elíasson and will be situated at Reykjavik Harbour.
